Henry Anning
CEO Energy, ResourceCo
With over 17 years’ experience across waste, finance, energy and sustainability sectors, Henry leads ResourceCo’s energy business in Australia and Southeast Asia. His previous roles include leading the Clean Energy Finance Corporation’s waste team and serving as Associate Director at Low Carbon Australia. Henry currently holds board positions with the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) and Bioenergy Australia, contributing his expertise to industry leadership and advancement.

Chris Alexander
General Manager, Phoenix Power Recyclers
With over 30 years in the industry, Chris has extensive experience across multiple waste management sectors. Beginning his career in 1995 as Project Manager for a landfill gas-to-energy initiative, he has since worked across landfill operations, recycling programs, energy management, and organics recycling. Chris prefers the term ‘Circular Economy Management’ and focuses on optimizing organics recycling processes to produce quality products that support sustainability goals and circular economy principles.

Hugo Parris
Regional Manager, Recycling & Resource Recovery, Cleanaway
Hugo began his career in the 1980s working across various state and federal government departments in Sydney before relocating to Brisbane in 1992. With three decades of experience in resource recovery and recycling in Queensland, he has developed comprehensive operational knowledge across numerous industry activities. Currently serving on the board of Waste and Recycling Industry Queensland (WRIQ), Hugo advocates strongly for industry sustainability, environmental protection, and the wellbeing of communities where Cleanaway operates.

Mark Dekker
General Manager, BMI Group
Mark brings 25 years of waste industry experience with particular focus on waste disposal and resource recovery since joining BMI Group in 2011. His career began in contaminated land investigation and remediation before transitioning to landfill development, where he implemented key measures to establish Queensland’s largest construction and demolition waste landfill at New Chum. At BMI Group, Mark has led the development of transfer stations and enhanced recycling capabilities. He currently serves as Vice President of Waste and Recycling Industry Queensland (WRIQ).

Ishrar Ali
General Manager QLD, REMONDIS Australia
Ishrar brings extensive waste and recycling industry expertise with specialized experience in logistics, recycling processes, organics management, and landfill operations. His skill set extends to government relations and stakeholder management, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of both operational and strategic aspects of the industry. Beyond his role as General Manager for REMONDIS Australia in Queensland, Ishrar contributes his industry knowledge as a non-Executive Board Member for several organizations, furthering waste management innovation and best practices.

Ryno Fourie
Non Ferrous Trading Manager QLD & PNG, Sims Metal
Ryno Fourie is highly experienced in the metal recycling field, having been in the industry for 18 years supplying recycled materials to a variety of customers. He has strong understanding of onsite management issues as well as regulatory requirements

David Powell
General Manager, Pure Environmental Qld
David is a recognised leader in the waste and resource recovery industry. With more than a decade driving the growth of WestRex, now Pure Environmental, David’s expertise and strategic vision have set new benchmarks in service quality, operational efficiency, and environmental outcomes.
Beyond his role at Pure, David is committed to shaping the future of the industry, currently serving as a Board Member of WRIQ, contributing to policy discussions and advocating for industry best practices.
